About Ammonite Yarns
Wales is rightly famous for its green hillsides covered in sheep. But would you believe it has a surprising shortage of yarn shops? Some of us look at those fields of sheep and wonder where all that wool goes...
Ammonite Yarns was formed in 2015 by Jenny Watts and Ruth Moore. We both loved knitting and wanted to share our enthusiasm with the world (or at least our small bit of it!). Our shop in Pontyclun is part of our plan to remedy the wool famine in South Wales.
At Ammonite Yarns, we source and sell gorgeous yarns with an emphasis is on natural fibres (British wool where possible) at a sensible price. We also showcase a selection of beautiful specialist yarns from small producers.
Ruth and Jenny are both passionate about sharing their skills with others. In our shop we hold classes for beginners, run workshops on more advanced techniques and host informal drop-in knitting and crochet groups. Take a look at our events calendar for a list of forthcoming classes and workshops. We can also provide tailored tuition for individuals and groups - please contact us to discuss your requirements.
