We have had to change the date for our Lace workshop -- eldest child moving countries made things difficult! The new date will be Saturday 18 June 10 till 4 pm. Revised details are on our workshops page together with details for booking.
Gaelle our lovely crochet teacher has given us some dates for some more crochet classes. These will take you further into the craft of crochet than the Beginner classes and are based around projects.
There will be a pattern reading session before the workshops begin which will make the workshops easier but if you can already follow patterns can be missed. The workshops themselves are based around specific patterns. The first one is a one session project to make a shawl and the next two workshops are two session workshops to make a bag and a more difficult scarf. There are more details on our workshop page and our deposits page. The pattern reading session is on 7 May, 10am till 12 and costs £15.00 The first shawl workshop is on 14 May from 10 till 1 and costs £30.00 including all materials and refreshments. Now that a fair few of you have attended our Beginner's Crochet Course, Gaelle has created some project based sessions. We have three planned so far scheduled for the Summer, the first one in May.
The sessions are all based around projects from the Drops Pattern Books (the first one pictured below) and will begin with a one session course to crochet a shawl. After that there will be a two two session course to crochet a bag and another two session course to crochet a scarf. More details will be posted shortly. Drops Crochet Along (CAL)
I may be an expert knitter but crochet is not my forte -- I've done the Learn to Crochet course with Gaelle at the shop and am now using the skills she taught me to join in with the Drops CAL. We don't stock Drops Love You cottons but we do stock Drops Safran which is almost identical just not recycled. I've put a picture of examples of the squares I've knitted so far (five of each -- clues 1 & 2). If you want to join in, it's not too late and we have plenty of yarns to choose from. http://www.garnstudio.com/lesson.php?id=40&cid=19 |
