Last week saw the arrival of yet more new yarns -- new ranges from Wendy as well as a new supplier for us, Patons. We love the Patons superfine merino and so do our customers as the navy colourway has already sold out.
We've also rearranged the yarns in the shop, ready for our sock knitalong and not content with that have moved the till area and customer seats too. It looks like a new shop (or even newer shop).
We have a few spaces left on our crochet courses and we have now launched our workshop schedule. both are listed on our workshops page and you can book onto them by paying a deposit here or coming into the shop or phone. We are really pleased that we can offer these as we know our first crochet course was enjoyed by everybody and we hope to make the knitting workshops helpful and enjoyable too.
We have been planning our workshop schedule for next year which we think will be really exciting.
The first workshop will be in September (probably 13th but we need to confirm) and will run at the shop. We will be teaching how to make socks and then adding a knitalong for good measure. It will work like this: book the workshop place to come along and learn how to make top-down socks on doublepointed needles. We will do this by making a mini- sock in the morning (could become a Christmas decoration or one of two bootees) and then in the afternoon choose your yarn to make socks and we'll get you started on the project. The knitalong will be open to all customers, not just those who come to the workshop and there will be a small prize at the end for the best (not necessarily most difficult) pair of socks. We'll post the full details later.
Keep a look out for more details of the workshops -- you will be able to book via the website, in the shop or by telephone with a deposit to hold your place.
Our crochet workshop booked so quickly that we are planning a second course in September. This one will run on Tuesday evenings from 15 September 6.30 till 8.30 for six weeks. Price as before is £65.00 and we need you to phone or come into the shop with a £10.00 deposit to reserve your place. You need to be quick if you would like to do this as the Friday evening course booked up within two days of me listing it. Bookings open on Monday 3 August.
