The weather may be giving us the blues but yarn gives us a rainbow. One of the reasons I love knitting so much is the colours available to knit in -- it's like a massage for the eyes -- and when it's all a bit dull outside the yarn offers some much needed brightness. So what if the Met Office has just posted a warning for rain over the weekend -- I just see it as an opportunity to knit more! Drop in and stock up on some Bank Holiday knitting and like me you won't notice the rain.
What's happened to the holidays -- it's mid-August already!
To help you get over post-holiday blues we have a new schedule of courses planned for the Autumn beginning with our brilliant crochet tutor Gaelle's Advanced Crochet Skills workshop. The workshops will cover all the techniques to make the lovely scarf, pictured below and Gaelle has divided it into two sessions so that you can go home between times and practice the skills learned. . The sessions are planned as follows: 17.09.16 Session One: Advanced Crochet -- Drops pattern 162-7 -- scarf Skills taught: reading Drops charts; repeat lace patterns 01.10.16 Session Two: Advanced Crochet -- Scarf Skills taught: fancy flower edging; working on both sides of a foundation chain Both sessions 10 till 12 including materials and refreshments and costs £40.00 including materials. It's not Christmas but the weather outside is truly frightful so our gardens are not getting any TLC. If you are suffering from gardening withdrawal symptoms, why not come and help with our sensory garden instead. You can find out more about the project on our website blog, our facebook page or in the latest issue of Knit Now (issue 63) where you will find this lovely editorial piece about the project.
