We have been invited to an event at Craft in the Bay on Saturday to celebrate Wool Week. Organised by the Makers Guild in Wales, it is a new event for those who love fibres, including beautiful hand dyed and organic wools, ceramic buttons, fabrics and interesting bits and bobs!
Entry is free so take the opportunity to come down and find textiles, yarns and kits for sale and just to browse. The event will be held in the Conference Room between 11 am and 4.30 pm. Ammonite Yarns will be taking along a selection of British yarns, kits and patterns so we'd love to see some of you there. We are definitely over the back to school flurry now so we are concentrating in the shop on our programme of workshops so it is all go for us. The sessions will be great fun so if you're hesitating, just take the plunge and join us -- there are a few spaces left so here is a reminder of dates;
Learn to Crochet with Gaelle Friday 11 September 6.30 till 8.30 for six weeks £65.00 OR Tuesday 15 September 6.30 till 8.30 for six weeks £65.00 Knitted Socks Workshop & Knitalong Saturday 12 September 2015 10am Till 4 pm £55.00 including lunch, materials and a 10% off voucher for yarn for the Knitalong. Book your place online, by phone or in the shop with a £10.00 deposit. v Come along and learn how to make knitted socks. v Choose whether you would like to join our knitalong as well. v Spend the morning learning the techniques to make a mini-sock on doublepointed needles and then in the afternoon start on full size socks. v Join the knitalong by choosing a sock pattern (or designing your own) and knitting it up using yarn bought from Ammonite Yarns. At the end of six weeks post photos of the socks (or sock if not finished!) on our facebook page or website and we will choose a winner (not necessarily the most difficult) who will receive an Ammonite Yarns gift voucher If you can't make any of these, keep an eye out for our workshop schedule which we'll keep up to date. Well ... the chaos of the first week back at school is over so you can come along and treat yourself to some nice relaxing knit and crochet. Our Autumn term begins with a new crochet course starting on Friday 11 September, a second course starting on Tuesday 15 September and a sock knitting workshop on Saturday 12 (plus a sockalong) -- you can book by clicking on the workshops page.
You could also not come along to one of our drop-ins which run every Tuesday morning from 10 till 12 then again in the evening from 6.30 till 8.30 when you can bring along whatever project you are working on and relax, drink tea and make new friends. We look forward to meeting you all. |
