Much as we love working here at Ammonite Yarns, we will be taking some time off for Christmas to spend time celebrating with our families.
The shop will be open on Tuesday 22 December as usual including our evening knit group. We will be open during the morning on Wednesday 23 December and will close at 1 pm. We will then re-open after Christmas on Tuesday 5th January and will resume our normal hours of opening. On-line orders can still be made whilst the bricks and mortar shop is closed, but please be aware that despatch and delivery is likely to take longer than usual. We wish you all a lovely Christmas and prosperous New Year! Jenny & Ruth How many of you have seen the latest trend for mermaid tails to curl up and watch TV in. I am making one for a friend's daughter -- freely adapting the pattern below by Angie Hartley. My version is in Drops Andes with an acrylic glitter yarn woven through to make the scales effect (picture of part of it in denim blue). I'm finishing off the fin now which I'm doing in the glitter yarn. I then need to finish a waistcoat in West Yorkshire Spinners DK and make a cardigan for my sister in Drops Belle. Can Christmas be delayed slightly please ... !
Here are a few of the socks entered into our sock knitalong, so thank you June, Jane, Sue and Lyndsey. After much prevaricating, Ruth and I have chosen the winner so the £10.00 voucher goes to Lyndsey for the red/turquoise/green pair below.
