It's amazing how difficult it can be to photograph the most luscious yarn and prettiest shawl pin and for the resulting photo to look anything like how we envisage it!. Yesterday afternoon saw Ruth and myself contorting ourselves to try and get a good backdrop for our pictures without including odd feet or hands as well! Believe me, the photo below doesn't do justice to the beauty of the yarn and shawl pin but thankfully doesn't include bits of me or Ruth either so I deem it a success!
The reason for our attempts at photography was that we are branching out a bit in the shop and producing our very own gift boxes. In preparation we have had Tote/project bags printed at The Studio in Pontyclun and they are fabulous. The bags are made from fabric produced from recycled plastic bottles but feel like cotton ... this technology lark is very clever! The bags are on sale in the shop at £3.95 and will feature in our gift boxes, the first of which we have photographed and is on the website already. We have asked our tame independent silversmith, Lynda Jones (my sister) to make and have hallmarked ten silver shawl pins which together with some beautiful silk-cashmere from Lotus Yarns provide the basis of our Luxury Gift Boxes. The box includes yarn, shawl pin, pattern, Hiya Hiya interchangeable needle tips, cables and grips, stitch markers and a tote bag and is available to order on the website for delivery in November. We will also be offering a box without the pin as well as other themed boxes so keep checking the website for details. |
